There’s a different kind of charm in this jar. Our Mustard Honey begins its journey in the wide mustard fields of Surkhet, where the landscape turns golden every winter. As the flowers open, Apis mellifera bees glide across the Terai heat, gathering nectar from thousands of tiny yellow blossoms to create a honey that’s naturally bright, smooth, and full of warmth. This isn’t just seasonal honey; it’s the result of careful, commercial beekeeping carried out by families who know these fields better than anyone. Your purchase keeps their work alive and supports a chain of sustainable harvesting that stretches from the Terai plains all the way to your home.

Our Tori Honey is harvested from the golden mustard fields of Banke in Nepal’s Terai region, at an altitude of around 200 meters. The honey is produced by Apis mellifera, a European-origin bee species widely farmed in Nepal for its consistent and productive nature. These bees feed primarily on blooming mustard flowers during the peak season, absorbing their natural aroma and flavor. The honey is carefully collected when the flowers are at full bloom, ensuring a rich, light-golden nectar that captures the essence of the Terai plains.Guided by local beekeepers, the mellifera colonies are nurtured with patience and expertise, making every jar not just a product, but a story of sustainable farming, family livelihoods, and the vibrant landscape of Kailali. Your purchase supports these communities and preserves a tradition of ethical beekeeping.

Surkhet gives life to our Mustard Honey through two dedicated harvesters: Jaya Prashad Sharma and Lil Bahadur Rana. These retired teachers traded classrooms for beehives, caring for 150 to 200 colonies each and keeping the craft alive with genuine devotion. They harvest the honey four to five times a year, with the peak season from September to November, while their bees naturally forage on wild rudhilo, sisham, and jamun blossoms in the surrounding forests.
